One of my favourite bands is 5 Seconds of Summer. I had been anticipating this tour, but unfortunately couldn’t go to their Toronto show. Some of my family and friends flew to Vancouver to see the concert with me. We arrived at night due to flight rescheduling issues. The following day, we biked around Stanley Park and explored the surrounding area. Due to high traffic, we were later than expected, but saw 5 Seconds of Summer at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre, on the UBC campus. The next day, we did some shopping and then caught our flight home.

We flew from Toronto to Kona, stopping in San Francisco for an hour between flights. There was a total Rogers shutdown on this day, and we couldn’t contact anyone at home the entire day! After arriving in Kona, we got our rental car and went shopping at Target.

The following day, we did some shopping on Ali’i Drive, where I purchased this magnet, then had dinner at the Kona Brewing Co.

We went shopping at the Waikoloa Beach Resort area.

We drove from Kona to Hilo, cutting across the island. Along the way, we went on the Onomea Trail, visited Akaka Falls State Park, Rainbow Falls, and then went to the Liliuokalani Park and Gardens in Hilo.

We took a day trip to Mauna Kea, Hawaii's highest point of 4,207.3 meters. We drove to the summit just in time for the sunset.

We drove along the coast, going to Wailuku River State Park and a black sand beach where we saw some turtles, Punalu'u Bake Shop, and then to the Papakolea Beach green sand beach.

The remainder of our trip was calmer. We went parasailing and relaxed. We flew to Los Angeles on the 18th.

We went to Disneyland and California Adventure in Anaheim.

We went to the Santa Monica Pier, got settled at our accommodations, then drove around L.A. to see sights like Randy’s Donuts and the Sofi Stadium.

We went to most of the tourist sights, such as the Hollywood sign viewed from the Griffith Observatory trail, then to Hollywood Boulevard, the Chinese Theatres and the Roosevelt Hotel.
